perhaps an old cigarette machine could be used for electronic components - most items would fit nicely in boxes of that size, and the boxes could be made so that they could be refilled and reused. they might be smaller and less prone to problems than more traditional vending machines, and there are a few relatively cheap ones on ebay (but none in the area). the last i remember seeing one of these i was too young to have any interest in using it (was legislation passed that banned them?), so i don’t really know how they work, but it seems possible..
