The KLPTO is designed to alert you when your neighbor’s laptop is being stolen. An FSR is placed underneath the laptop. As long as the FSR is receiving 200 units of pressure, nothing happens. If the FSR detects less than 200, then the servo motor is activated waving the flag back and forth.

perhaps an old cigarette machine could be used for electronic components - most items would fit nicely in boxes of that size, and the boxes could be made so that they could be refilled and reused. they might be smaller and less prone to problems than more traditional vending machines, and there are a few relatively cheap ones on ebay (but none in the area). the last i remember seeing one of these...
